James Elliott-Abstract Artist

I have always been a struggling artist, learning to create with whatever I could find and make available to me.  There has been times when I hoped simply to find old paintings to paint over or enough lumber to construct my own frames and stretch my own canvas.  I even remember the times when I had a storage unit and I turned it into my art studio and I would sleep there as well as paint.  Those experiences have become part of my story as an artist and have taught me to appreciate every opportunity to have to create.  

I truly enjoy painting with acrylics on large canvases-The bigger the better. I have so many ideas in my head.  Everyday I think about how far I have come in the past twenty years and someday I hope to have the resources to open a cooperate art gallery-A place where emerging and struggling artists can display their artwork for a small fee and have their art seen by hundreds of people everyday.  With the goal of promoting other artist's careers.      

Color is one of the things I love most about creating art.  I enjoy experimenting with color, shapes, movement and the unexpected ways that different elements can come together.  For me, this is something incredibly rewarding about starting with a blank surface and creating something that did not exist before.

I am always open to personal art shows, gallery exhibitions, collaborations and new opportunities to share my work.  If you are an art gallery, collector, business, or private individual interested in displaying or purchasing my artwork, I would be happy to speak with you directly.  Private showings and art events can also be arranged.
